May Day Monday.....

May bank holiday Monday was yet another delightful day weather wise.  Elaine decided that she would felt some soap on the roof of the boat as you do!

I hand polished the port side of the boat, the end result was quite pleasing ...

By now now the crowd beside the boat was gathering!  Not only were they curious to what she was up to but there was this strange cat (Geoffrey) on the roof as well....what happened to his ears etc?! Sammy was also up there just loving everybody and trying to insert his tongue up various nostrils....it's his passion.  Elaine was fending off lots of questions about the boat ("can you stand up straight inside"?) and what we were doing / going etc., while I sat on the bench opposite the boat, enjoying the entertainment !

There she is scrubbing away ...

We were expecting visitors in the late afternoon but before they arrived we went for a walk in the afternoon sun ... the poms were sunbathing everywhere.  Pub gardens and every bit of available grass was full of bodies ...

We also found them sitting on the lockside and in the beer garden of  'Dukes 92'...

It was a truly lovely day ... let's hope we have a lot more sunny ones to come.

Our Aussie friends arrived late in the afternoon, so we had drinks and nibbles on the boat, then it was off to The Wharf for more drinks and dinner ... finally back to the boat for a couple of glasses of wine before bed.

We gave them our bedroom whilst we had the airbed in the lounge with all the animals - we couldn't inflict that fate on them !!!  All in all it was a 'bonza' day.
