Cracker Of A Day

What a cracker of a day, the sun was out and all was good in the world.

Paul and Julie came to the site to pick us up up, but firstly we all just sat in the sun and had a cuppa and a chat ...

We then headed off to the Harbourne River, which is a tributary to the River Dart.
There just happened to be a pub on the river so we had a drink a good chat and just took in the serenity of it all ...

Quite a few people were sitting outside enjoying the glorious weather. The convertible cars were out in force ...

We then went for a good walk down the river, which is tidal when you get further down.

At low tide you can cross the river, the stones were very slippery but we all made it across OK ...

As you can see the tide was well and truly out ...

If only the sky was this blue more often ...

By early evening it was time to return to Paul and Julie's pub accommodation where we had booked a table for dinner.

Firstly the boys had to be fed ...

They were staying at The Cott Inn which has been a pub since 1320!!!

It is the most fantastic pub with very friendly, helpful staff ...

The dinner was superb, the wine was pretty good as well ...

On Sunday night they also have live music, last nights turn was a Soul/Jazz singer who regularly appears at Ronnie Scott's Jazz club in Soho.

We all had a great night. ...
.

The dogs were excellent - they just slept under the table, we had to wake them at closing time.

A truly magical pub and dog friendly, just amazing ...

Elaine said we had to go home as my eyes had gone mad!!

The bar staff called a cab and off we went two miles down the road.  We could have walked but there is no pavement, plus I had a bit of a wobbly boot on ...
