Britain's Smallest City

We left our lovely site at Trefin our destination today being Chepstow.

We had a bit of a detour on the way, first stopping at St Davids, which is Britain's smallest city!

It is also a bit of a surfie area, this chap had a radical new design based on an ironing board ...

The cathedral is rather magnificent ...

Inside ...

Next to the cathedral is the Bishop's palace, which is in dire need of a bit of TLC!

Palace ...

Cathedral ...

St Davids is a magical little spot ... very arty farty with lots of little cafes and a few decent looking pubs.

We will definitely come back and explore this area sometime in the future ...

We passed one of the surf beaches as we headed along the coast ...

Next stop was the little village of Llangwm, where Elaine's aunty lived many years ago.  Her aunt now lives in the Dandenong ranges which lie about twenty miles east of bleak city (Melbourne Australia) ...

Check out the little Austin 7 coming out the side road!

It was a very tight squeeze in places.

The next couple of shots are for the benefit of NB Cleddau, as we headed over the Cleddau toll bridge ...

We didn't stop in Pembroke, but managed to get a shot of the castle on the way ...

Totally agree with this poster ...

Pembroke seems like a nice town ...

It was then a couple of hours drive to our overnight stop near Chepstow.
We are staying in the pub carpark as its a Britstop pub. We are overlooking the Severn Estuary, I wonder if we will see any narrrowboats doing the Sharpness to Avonmouth trip.

Tomorrow we are heading to Bath.
